White County School Charter logo(Cleveland)- School officials report great parent participation at the  two meetings concerning the White County Intermediate School and Jack P. Nix  Elementary School transition process, that will take place this fall.

During Thursday nights White County  Board of Education meeting Dr. Jeff Wilson, Superintendent of Schools said the next step is to send out letters to parents. Wilson told the board  they have looked at the numbers and Wilson said, “ We will have to do some hiring”,  because of increased  enrollment projections,   ” we probably would have had to do some hiring whether we moved or not  we just had some folks move in,  we certainly don’t want to start a class with 25, 26, 27 kids,” said Wilson.

The elementary school transition will require a name change for the Intermediate  school. The school board was told that school officials have received 50 suggestions for a name change.  There will be a committee formed to help decide on the name.

Dr. Wilson said there should a recommendation for the board at next month’s meeting.
