(Cleveland)- A 17-year old White County youth is in big trouble after he is suspected of stealing a car and kidnapping a girl in Cleveland. Lt. Aaron Wieland, with Cleveland Police Department said the incident began around 9 PM Sunday night, when he is accused of kidnapping his 17 year old girlfriend and fleeing into Hall County.
\Wieland said, 17- year old Trevor Rankin drove into Hall County and stopped at the Texaco Station at Nopone Road. That’s when the girl, with the assistance from people at the station, was able to get away from Rankin.
Lt. Wieland said, Rankin fled the scene on foot and with the assistance of Hall County Sheriff’s Department they recovered the vehicle involved. The vehicle, according to Wieland was reported stolen in Blairsville.
According to Wieland, the 17-year old girl was not believed to have suffered any serious injuries in the incident.
Rankin is expected to face charges in Hall County and Blairsville in addition.
