Mrs. Janie Allen, age 83, of Demorest passed away on Saturday, October 31, at her home following a
brief illness.
Born in Habersham County, on February 27, 1932, she was a daughter of the late John Gordon Sisk and
Martha Allen Sisk. She was a longtime member of Habersham Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was employed
for over 20 years with Habersham Mills. After completing the nursing program from North Georgia
Tech, she was employed with Habersham Medical Center and later Habersham Home from which she
retired.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Allen; brothers, Bill
and Redus Sisk; sisters, Vera Copeland, Alice Robinson, and Louise Ivie.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Sisk (Bill Lassiter) of Dahlonega and Lynn Gribble
(Roger) of Demorest; sister, Betty Masters of Demorest; grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Chad Sisk
(Jenny) Salem, AL, Angela Davis(Steve) Dahlonega, Lauren Fair(John) Demorest, and Whitney Gribble,
Demorest; great-grandchildren Zachary Sisk, Matthew Sisk and Hannah Davis; sisters-in-law, Edna Black,
Demorest, Yvonne Lindsay, Clarkesville, Janett Allen, Demorest, and Annette Turpen, Cleveland.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart
with Rev. Doug Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Amy’s Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 pm on Monday.
