(Dahlonega)- An overnight fire in Lumpkin County  resulted in minor injuries to the occupant and claimed the lives of two of his pets. The home, located on Celie Seabolt Road, north of Cleveland, was fully involved with flames  when firefighters arrived in around 3 AM Saturday.

The injured resident’s name has not been released, but Lumpkin County Fire Chief David Wimpy said via email the man was transported to the hospital with one of his little dogs. Two other dogs perished in the fire.  The home was destroyed in the fire, Wimpy said.

White County Fire units were requested to provide mutual aid fighting the fire, but was cancelled before arriving on scene.

No other details have been released.

The house is in Lumpkin County, but has a Cleveland mailing address
