(Atlanta)-  The National Weather Service in their latest north Georgia  smoke and weather update have no  good news to share.  Keith Stellman, Meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service in Atlanta said in an email, unfortunately, as the fires grow and/or more break out, a larger portion of the area will experience smoke from the fires as long as a northerly wind continues.

Meanwhile the U.S. Forest Service advises that the  Rough Ridge Fire has grown to  21,533 acres and 20% contained. 203 personnel are assigned to that  fire.

The Rock Mountain fire in Rabun County has burned 6,487 acres and is 10 percent contained. Forestry officials advised the Burrell fire is 100 percent contained.
