(Cleveland)- At 12:30 PM, Friday, White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner issued a local State of Emergency for White County, upon recommendations of local and state emergency management agencies. The State of Emergency includes the cities of Cleveland and Helen and officially implements the local emergency operations plan.
White County departments continue to ready services and prepare to implement emergency operation Friday night. White County Public Safety Director David Murphy reported following a late morning weather briefing with the National Weather Service the biggest change in the impending weather is the temperature profiles. Murphy said, they are
Expected to be lower than earlier thought, Saturday and Sunday, with wind chill’s. Some areas could see single digits Sunday morning with very little warm up through the day. Murphy said, “Our main concern will be the re-freeze on Saturday night and into Sunday.”
