Mary Merlene Morris, age 86, of Dahlonega, passed away on November 18, 2020.
Mrs. Morris was born on December 11, 1933, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Bob
and Merle Shue. In addition to her parents, Merlene was preceded in death by her
brother, Bobby Shue.
She was a loving wife of 68 years and mother of four children, five grandchildren,
and seven great-grandchildren. Merlene was completely dedicated to her family
and ensured each one was loved and cared for. She enjoyed cooking and seasonal
decorating to always make sure that the family was abundantly nourished in body
and spirit. She enriched the lives of many children at her church, where she taught
Sunday School most of her adult life. Along with her family, all the joys of her
mountain home were her treasures. Mrs. Morris was a member of Mossy Creek
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Morris, Dahlonega; daughter, Linda Morris
Smith, Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tommy Tritt, Dahlonega;
sons, Brad Morris, Dallas, GA, and Dave Morris, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Erica
Reed, Evan Smith, Daniel Tritt, Nathan Tritt, Krista Tritt; 7 great-grandchildren also
survive.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2020 at
Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Michael B. Rodgers will
officiate.
