FLORENCE, S.C. | The Peach Belt Conference has released the 2015 men’s tennis All-Conference team from a banquet in Florence, S.C., on the eve of the PBC Tournament with University of North Georgia standouts
Matheus Guida and
Mateus Camasmie earning first team doubles honors. Guida was also a second team singles selection.
The Nighthawk duo is currently ranked No. 12 nationally and third in the Southeast region after sporting a 13-2 record at No. 1 doubles.
The All-Conference doubles nod is the second of Guida’s career as he joined Felipe Friedrich in 2013 as a second team honoree. Guida and Camasmie become only the second doubles team at North Georgia to garner All-Conference honors since joining the Peach Belt.
Guida earned a 9-7 singles record, including an even 6-6 ledger in the top singles line.
The singles All-Conference honor is the second of his career after being tabbed a second team selection in 2013. Guida becomes the first player in North Georgia history to a multiple All-Conference selection.
Armstrong State’s Fernando Bogajo and Flagler’s Jose Martinez were named the league’s co-Players of the Year while Georgia Regents’ Moritz Gehlhaus and Georgia College’s Ecenarro Del Rio were named the co-Freshmen of the Year. Lander’s Brett Simpson was named the Coach of the Year.
The 21st-ranked Nighthawks will open up Peach Belt Conference play tomorrow (April 24) with a quarterfinal match against No. 8 Columbus State.
