(MONROE) — Buford track and field team stormed to a stellar final day at the Region 8-AAAA track and field championships, allowing the Wolves to finish first overall, while the Lady Wolves took second place.
White County took third in both boys and girls portions of the meet, led by Jenna Gearing, who swept the distance races by claiming the 3,200 on Thursday (11:21). She won the 1,600 on Tuesday.
The top four finishers in each event qualified for the state sectionals, which will be held at various sites next Saturday. Region 8-AAAA qualifiers will compete at Eagles Landing for a spot at the state finals.
