(Cleveland)- A Fire Weather Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service. That means that there is a high potential for the development of critical fire weather conditions in 12 to 96 hours. Forecasters say that humidity levels down to 13-24 percent along with high winds and dry fuels will create a high fire danger. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

White County Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with White County Fire Services, City of Cleveland, and City of Helen Fire Departments encourages residents not to burn on Saturday.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy says weather conditions will exist through the day on Saturday that will increase the risk for wildfires.  White County is a community vulnerable to wildfires, and with the FIRE WEATHER WATCH in effect for tomorrow, no burning will be allowed.

Murphy says, “ we do expect this issuance of Red Flag Warnings during the period tomorrow.”
