The possibility of a chance in the state baseball playoffs came to an end last night as the Warriors fell to the East Forsyth Broncos 6 to 3.
The Broncos took the early lead with the only run scored in the first two innings, they were then able to knock in 4 more runs in the top of the third, while the Warriors were not able to complete the trip around the bases and left the bases loaded.
White County would make an attempt to rally, bringing home three runs in the 4th. East Forsyth put up one more run in the top of the 5th, and White County pitcher Mark Daniels would injure his leg as the Warriors once again loaded the bases. A courtesy runner took the base as Daniels was assisted off the field. But the sacrifice did not yield any results, as the inning would end with those same bases still loaded.
That would be the last scoring inning for the game as the victory, and the state playoff position went to East Forsyth. The final score was 6 to 3, Broncos.
The Warriors still have one more region game to play, it is at home on Friday for game 3 of the series versus East Forsyth, pregame show 5:40 pm, first pitch at 5:55, on your Warrior Station, WRWH.
It was Senior Night last night and four graduating players were honored:
- Jake Johnson
- Billy Carder
- Jacob Matthewson
- Dylan Sargent
