(Cleveland)- A special time of recognition was made Thursday evening as White County Bus Drivers, Employees, and Teachers of the year were honored by the White County School System, and the selection of the system winners was announced in each category.
The event was held at the White County Middle School gym.
This year’s bus drivers of the year are Mandie Harris, representing Jack P. Nix Elementary, Tina Johnson, Mossy Creek Elementary, Mike Ray Mount Yonah Elementary, Amanda Evans Tesnatee Gap, Manning Minton, White County Middle, and High School and Steve Tucker Special Ed and Relief Driver. Tina Johnson was honored as the System Bus Driver of the Year.
Employees of the year include Becky Ivester, Jack P. Nix, Ruthier Blocker, Mossy Creek, Keena Dennis Mount Yonah, Shelli Leslie Tesnatee Gap, Heather Nix-Hood White County Middle and Karen Vandiver White County High School. Karen Vandiver was honored with the System Employee of the Year award.
Teachers of the Year are Allison Lundy, Jack P. Nix, Shanda Bartlett, Mossy Creek, Meredith McConnell Mount Yonah, Holly Witcher, Tesnatee Gap, Tina Vandiver White County Middle, and Brad Abernathy White County High School. Holly Witcher was honored as being selected as the White County System Teacher of the Year.
Laura Corley, Director of Human Resources for White County Schools said, “ the people we recognize this evening have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues. In addition to the special recognition, each of the winners received a gift card complements of Habersham EMC.
Mr. Mike Ray has been my daughter’s bus driver since Kindetgarten (4 years) and I think he is absolutely wonderful. I couldnt ask for a more accommodating and dependable driver. Even when Im available to drive her to school or pick her up, she prefers to ride the bus with Mr. Mike. Keep up the good work everybod! You are appreciated!
