(NORMAN, Okla.) – The 2023 Division II PING All-America Teams have been announced by the GCAA. University of North Georgia men’s golfer Evan Thompson has been selected as a second-team All-American honoree this season.

It is the third consecutive season the program has placed a player on the All-America list, and it is the highest All-American selection in the program’s history as Grant Cowell (2021,2022) and Thompson (2022) previously earned honorable mention honors.

Thompson ranked second in the PBC in scoring average, recording an average round of 71.0 in 27 rounds this season. The Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year earned the second All-Region selection of his career earlier this year, receiving All-Region and All-American Honorable Mention honors last season.

Thompson led UNG in five of their 11 regular season events this season, picking up an individual medalist victory in the Tennessee River Rumble on April 23rd.
