Cleveland)- White County officials will be watching weather developments over the next couple of days for possible flash flooding. The National Weather Service has advised that a pool of tropical moisture will combine with numerous afternoon and evening thunderstorms to produce a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for flash flooding today and Thursday.

The weather service says the highest flood risk will occur between 2 PM and 10 PM on both days.

Don Strength, Division Chief with White County Public Safety said this morning that a couple of storms may also produce wind gusts at or above 40 mph. Thunderstorms may produce rain rates as high as 2-3″ per hour which could result in flash flooding.
