Linda Joyce Copeland, age 78 of Dahlonega, GA passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2024. Born February 4, 1946, in Canton, NC to the late Larie R. Williams and Mary J. Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Blanche Mooney, Ethel Mauldin, and brother Carl Williams.
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 53 years, Gordon L. Copeland; daughter Misty (Greg) Clayton; grandchildren Lana Woodward and Hunter Clayton; stepdaughters Nalita Whittington and Salina Copeland; sister Margaret Harkins; brother Mike Williams and numerous family members and friends.
She dedicated her career to the United States Department of Agriculture as a Poultry Inspector where she retired after 42 years. After retirement, her days were spent traveling with Gordon, wherever he wanted to go and taking her beloved granddaughter to horseback lessons and watching her compete. She was an avid lover of plants and flowers as she had them scattered all around the house. She also loved watching all the different kinds of birds coming to the birdhouses she had placed in front of the house.
Linda was a Godly woman who was a devoted and dedicated Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, who cared for her family well. She was also a loving and resilient lady that will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to be a part of her life.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Dahlonega Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Mayberry will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hutcheson officiating. The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Dahlonega Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 234 Hawkins Street, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
