(Cleveland)- The White County Grand Jury convened this week to address cases brought before them. The jury body met Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, and returned a total of 26 true bills of indictment and one case was tabled.

Among those indicted was 26-year-old Kayla Brooke Osburn of Commerce who was charged with 1st-degree Vehicular homicide, in connection with the April 2023, death of 26-year-old Wendell Lovell, of Cleveland. Lovell was killed, according to the Georgia State Patrol when the vehicle operated by Osburn crossed over the center line striking the pickup truck operated by Lovell.

The impact caused the truck to overturn, killing Lovell.

Osburn was also indicted on several counts of Driving Under The Influence. Set featured image

 

 

Amber Nicole Bengel, Age 34                                                         Kayla Ann Bengel, Age 32

Amber Nicole Bengel age 34 of Cleveland and Kayla Ann Bengel, age 32 of Baldwin were indicted on two counts each of Cruelty to Children. The pair were arrested on August 13 by a White County Sheriff’s deputy.

The Grand Jury presented their report on October 9, in White County Superior Court.
