Martha Lounell Carder, age 84, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024. Born on August 30, 1940, in Dahlonega, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jim Davis and the late Envella Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marty Ray Thomas; her siblings, Charolette Fuller, Henry Davis, Tommy Davis, and James Davis; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Christine Thomas.

Martha leaves behind her devoted husband, Luke Carder; her children, Johnny (Donna) Thomas of Dawsonville and Cindy Thomas of Dahlonega; and her cherished grandchildren, Danielle (Derrick) Case, Morgan (Wes) Dale, Madison (Daniel) Wellborn, Brandon Skaggs (Melissa Burnette), Jessica (Jason) Humphries, and Marty Ray Thomas Jr. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Hudson, Houston, London, Kane, Lexi, Kinsley (Adam), Zachary, Logan, Easton, Jonathan, Joseph, and Will. She is further survived by her sister, Betty Hodge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Martha was a dedicated homemaker who cared deeply for her family. She was spunky, full of humor, and had a zest for life. A woman of deep faith, she loved God with all her heart. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
