(Cleveland)- Today (10/15)  starts the early voting process for the November General Election in Georgia and election officials are ready for you.

White County Election Supervisor Amie Veater said they just completed logic and accuracy testing and have everything set up for those wishing to cast an early ballot.  Monday, October 7, was the first day officials began mailing our absentee ballots to those who had requested them. Veater said they will be sending out requested ballots daily now.

White County has approximately 21,000 registered voters which includes  358 people who registered in September alone. The deadline to register to vote in the November election has just ended.

With the early voting process kicking off today Veater says people wishing to cast an advance in-person ballot have until November 1 to do so.

If you need an absentee ballot request that before October 25.

Advance in-person voting will be held in the elections and registration office, which is located in the Mauney Building on the Helen Highway, Monday through Saturday from 8 AM until 5 PM.  On election day November 5, registered voters will cast their ballots at their assigned polling location between 7 AM and 7 PM.

In this election in addition to voting for individual candidates, there are some statewide questions and White County voters are being asked to extend the current Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

You are urged to study your ballot before going to vote. Sample ballots are available online at the Secretary of States My Voter Page.
