Amos “Shorty” Edward Nix, age 91, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.
Mr. Nix was born on April 14, 1933, in Willington, Colorado, to the late William Marvin Nix and Zadie Self Nix. He was a former auto mechanic and worked for Barrett’s Used Cars. Shorty was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a number of siblings and 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Margaret Grindle, Joey Nix, Barbara and Bud Edge, Glen and Donna Nix, Greg Nix, Sheril Nix; very special friend, Joey Clanton; sister, Janie Ewing; half-sister, Ruth Ann Blackwell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Whitlock and the Rev. Nick Rice will officiate. Interment will follow in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
