(Cleveland)- All four infields at Yonah Preserve Sports Complex have become extremely hard and are in need of reconditioning. The White County Commissioners approved funding Monday to add conditioner, sand, and clay to correct the fields.

The board approved a request from Parks and Recreation Director Kimberly McEntire to enlist the services of Environmental Creations Landscape Company for the amount of $11,200.

McEntire told the commissioners that she had received a good deal of feedback regarding the harness of the infields from coaches, players, and parents. According to McEntire maintenance staff complained regarding the difficulty of dragging the fields. She said basically when it rains, the fields become unsafe and super muddy.

The service will include aerating 5 acres, infield renovations: materials, and labor for spreading and tilling in 180 tons of #1 core sand.

The county will use funds from the hotel/motel tax fund to pay for this project.
