Brad Parks- Photo GBI

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced the promotion of Brad Parks as Special Agent in Charge of the GBI’s Office of Privacy and Compliance.  Parks has been active in different aspects of law enforcement in northeast Georgia.  

According to a news release from the GBI, Agent  Parks began his law enforcement career with the GBI in 1992 and has served in several different division.  In 2005, Parks served as Commander for the Appalachian Drug Task Force (now  The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office).

 In 2010 he became the Assistant Special Agent In Charge of the GBI Cleveland Field Office.  Parks received the GBI Award for Valor and the Governor’s Public Safety Award for Heroism in 2001, as a member of the GBI’s Special Operations Unit Special Response Team.  He has served as a Bomb Disposal Technician for the GBI since 2002.

In his new position Parks will be assigned to the investigative division where he will be responsible for supervision of the staff assigned to the unit and will oversee the administration of open records documentation, accreditation activities, and daily operations of the office.
