Buddy Tom Stewart, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away November 19, 2015, at the

age of 82. He was born December 23, 1932, in Clarkesville, Georgia to Virgil Lee and

Effie Mae (Wheeler) Stewart. 

Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1950 – 1953 during

the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his

country when called upon to do so. Buddy loved to sing and was the song leader at

Robinson Street Baptist Church. He loved to go on road trips in his truck. His first love

was spending time with his family.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Stewart; 2 children, Tonya Hester &

husband, Terry and Tony Stewart & wife, Dian; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Stewart and

Myranda Stewart; 6 siblings, Betty Sue Terry, Geneva Invester, Winnie Lou Tench, Ray

Stewart & wife, Wilene, Herman Stewart, Jimmy Stewart & wife, Jeanell; and a host of

nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family members and friends. He is

preceded in death by his parents, Virgil & Effie Stewart; 7 siblings, Leroy Stewart,

Johnny Stewart, Herbert Stewart, Bobby Stewart, Doug Stewart, Bill Stewart, and

Louise Patterson. 

Memorial Services for Buddy will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at

Robinson Street Baptist Church, located at 801 E. Robinson St., in Norman, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore,

Oklahoma.
