(Cleveland)- A news release from the City of Cleveland Mondy says that the Mayor and City Council wish to keep the current tax millage rate of 5.056 mills.

Since the rollback rate is lower than the proposed millage rate – in order to maintain that 5.056 rate state law requires the City to hold three public hearings.

The city of Cleveland has announced that they will hold the required public hearings at the Cleveland Community Center/Police Department, 342 Campbell Street Cleveland on August 1st at 8:00 a.m. and on August 8th at 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Mayor and Council will adopt the 2024 Property Tax Millage Rate immediately following the third public hearing at 6:15 PM.

The news release said, “ The Mayor and Council of the City of Cleveland work to keep the City of Cleveland’s millage rate as low as possible while providing the necessary services to the ever-growing population.”
