(Cleveland)- The City of Cleveland Police Department reports the following activities for the week of January 15 –18th.
January 15, 2024
Officer conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street for speeding. The driver had a
warrant out of Carroll County that was confirmed. Citation was issued for speeding and then
the subject was transported to White County Sheriff’s Department to be held for Carroll County.
January 16, 2024
Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on GA Hwy 11 near Cleveland Builder
Supply. Minor damage, no injuries, and one citation was issued for following to closely.
January 18, 2024
Officers conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street at Hood Street for a headlight
violation. An odor of marijuana was detected upon speaking with the driver. A search
of the vehicle was conducted, and less than one ounce was found in the console of the
vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and issued two citations for no headlight
and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
