(Cleveland)-The annual county government pumpkin decorating contest ended and the winners were announced Thursday. For the past five years, White County Government has conducted a pumpkin decorating contest for each department. White County Clerk/Human Resource Director Shanda Murphy says ” it’s kind of fun activity, employee relations building.” She said the creativity is amazing.
Each department has an opportunity to, ” on their own time “, work on decorating pumpkins and then for about a week the public is welcome to stop by and vote on their choice as the best. Local judges select from all the participations and choose the top winners. Murphy said, ” it’s highly competitive, its all about bragging rights”
This years first place winner was Probate Court, second place Tax Commissioners Office, third place was awarded to the Board of Commissioners Office and People’s Choice Award was also the Probate Court.
