Courtney Poole has been named the Peach Belt AstroTurf Pitcher of the Week. It is the second honor in the last three weeks for Poole who picked up both conference and national honors for her performance in the first week of March.
Last week the Watkinsville native went a perfect 5-0 and tossed both games of UNG’s conference sweep over UNC Pembroke. She threw a total of 32 innings for the Nighthawks and allowed a mere 3 earned runs in that time while striking out 37.
Poole threw a complete game shutout against Lee where she picked up ten of her 37 strikeouts. On the week, she put up a 0.66 earned run average and continues to lead the league with a 0.80 ERA, 138 strikeouts, and 15 total wins.
