(Cleveland)- For voters across the state and here in White County today (5/17)  is the last day to cast an advance in-person ballot ahead of the May 21 primary election.

White County Elections Supervisor Amie Veater advised that there was a surge in the number of voters casting ballots in the last few days. Veater reported that as of Thursday afternoon, a total of 1591 in-person ballots had been cast with 137 absentee ballots received back in the office.

There will be no early voting this Saturday so those who don’t get by today to cast a ballot will have to go to their individual precincts on May 21 between 7 AM and 7 PM to cast a ballot.

This is an important election with County Commission and Sheriff Positions being selected.
