COLUMBUS, Ga. | Freshman Anna Greer led the University of North Georgia women’s golf team to a third place finish out of five schools at the Lady Cougar Spring Invitational hosted by Columbus State on Tuesday at the Country Club of Columbus. North Georgia recorded a final round 315, marking the second lowest team score of the day.

Greer carded a final round 79 for a 36-hole total of 159 as she finished in sixth place out of 25 golfers.

Carrilee Hiers (83-78-161, t8th) and Taylor Allen (80-82-162, t10th) also posted top-10 finishes for the Nighthawks.

UNG’s 315 set a new single season low score for UNG, bettering the previous mark by a single shot.

Montevallo ran away with the team title with a 299-303-602, finishing 38 strokes ahead of runner-up Lee (319-321-640). The host Lady Cougars finished ten strokes behind UNG with a 329-326-655, while Point rounded out the field with a 364-349-713.

Montevallo’s Elaine Wood held off teammate Morgan Natale to claim medalist honors with a 72-73-145.

North Georgia returns to action on Feb. 29 through Mar. 1 at the Armstrong State Lady Pirate Spring Invitational in Savannah.
