(Cleveland)- It could be an interesting week weather wise across north Georgia.  Following a special weather briefing Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service, White County Public Safety Director David Murphy advised, we are watching the weather closely.

Murphy said in an email that the weather service advises that  heavy rain is expected through Thursday, with up to two inches of rain.  There is a slight chance of severe weather, but mainly southwest portions of the state.

Murphy also said, we could see downed trees due to wind and the saturated soils.

Weather-AlertThere is also a potential for snow, but forecasters say they expect little or no accumulation as the weather system moves out of the northern part of the state on Wednesday or Thursday.
