Minnie Lou Head, age 88, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1936, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late William Webster Dockery and the late Florence Nix Dockery. In addition to her parents, Minnie Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Broton Head, and siblings Viola Dockery, Odell Jones, HR Dockery, Earl Dockery, Bernice Winn, Homer Dockery, John Dockery, Curvin Dockery, and Paulene Andrews.

Minnie Lou exemplified the virtues of a caring and loving woman throughout her life. She was a devoted wife to Broton until his passing in 2015, and she cherished her role as an aunt and friend to many. Known for her compassionate heart and generosity, Minnie Lou had a passion for gardening, especially tending to her beloved flowers. She was renowned for her warm spirit, willingness to help others, love for shopping, and her famous banana pudding.

She is survived by her siblings, Mildred Harkins and Doug (Sherrill) Dockery; special niece, Linda Cantrell; sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Lou Trammell; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives who will deeply miss her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Concord Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Kris Butler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Flowers will be accepted, however, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church or Yahoola Baptist Church, reflecting Minnie Lou’s commitment to her faith and community.

Minnie Lou Head’s kindness, warmth, and enduring love will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
