Mr. Phil Lingerfelt, age 76, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, October 11, 2024.

Mr. Lingerfelt was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on February 21, 1948, to the late Willam and Mary Lou Self Lingerfelt.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Tony Lingerfelt and siblings Violet, Evelyn, Helen, Syble, Wilma, Roy, and Ray. Phil loved to hunt and fish.  He was a fighter in life and epitomized “fighting the good fight of faith”.  Phil loved and served several churches as a deacon for forty-five years.  His most recent place he served was Salem Baptist Church.  He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Missing him most will be his wife of fifty-eight years, Linda Lingefelt; daughter and son-in-law Tami and Rodney Gentry; grandchildren Carmen Gentry, Justin Gentry (Hannah), Lauren Walker (Zack); siblings Bob Lingerfelt (Sherry), Larry Lingerfelt (Faye) and Dora Strain; great grandchildren Montgomery Gentry, Emma Walker, Logan Walker; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2024, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Moon and the Rev. Jason Fuller will officiate.  Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
