Mrs. Sally Head Usher, 91, of Clermont, Ga., died on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Concord Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sally was born in Clermont and loved her community. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and served there in many ways throughout the years. Alongside her good friend Margaret Burke, she helped direct the Chattahoochee Baptist Association mission camp for girls for many years. Then her service moved to elder care as she served Bell Minor Home residents and their families as the social director. The garden and the beach were special places for Sally, but she really enjoyed being in her hometown of Clermont. Through it all she shared the love of Jesus with those around her, especially her family.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Robert “Red” Usher.
Sally is survived by her children, Jenny Grindle (Deral), Mary Ann Blitch, Jimmy Usher (Stephanie); her grandchildren Erin Grindle (Andrew McDavid), Mark Usher (Diana Young), Russ Grindle (Tara), Amanda Holden (Kevin), Ansley Parker (Nathan), Daniel Blitch (Becca), Sadie Usher and 11 great-grandchildren.
