ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. | Behind a pair of one-over par 73’s from seniors Dillon Humphrey and Austin Booker, the University of North Georgia men’s golf team sits in second place at the midway point of the Winter Invitational hosted by the College of Coastal Georgia at the Sea Island Golf Club.
The Nighthawks shot an opening round 296, and trail leader and host Coastal Georgia (287) by nine strokes.
Dalton Humphrey and Will McFarlin rounded out the scoring for UNG with matching 75’s .
Southeastern (Fla.) is third with a 299.
North Georgia is one of three NCAA Division II schools in the 19-team field.
The final round tees off tomorrow (Feb. 16) at 8:30 a.m. on the par 72 Retreat Course.
