(GREENEVILLE, Tenn.) — Hours after earning the highest ranking in program history, the No. 10 University of North Georgia men’s basketball team defeated Tusculum 84-73 on the road, winning their fourth straight game to begin the season.

Frank Champion added another double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, finishing one assist shy of a triple-double with nine. Champion continued his hot start, looking to once again finish with the most double-doubles in NCAA Division II.

AJ White scored 23 for the second straight game, earning four assists and four rebounds while shooting 8-17 from the field. Eric Jones rounded out the double-digit scorers for UNG, finishing with 11 points on 5-8 shooting.

It was a tight-knit first half as the Nighthawks managed a two point lead heading into the break, shooting 44% from the field and beyond the arc. In the second, an efficient offense led the way, as North Georgia scored 49 points, shooting 63% from the field.

With the win, the Nighthawks begin 4-0 on the season marking their best start since the 2008-09 season. Next for UNG is the FSC Mocs Thanksgiving Classic where they will face Saint Leo on Friday (Nov. 24) at 5:30 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla. and host Florida Southern on Saturday (Nov. 25) at 7:30 p.m.
