(JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn) – The No. 11 University of North Georgia women’s tennis team kicked off it spring schedule with a 6-1 non-conference road win at Carson-Newman on Wednesday afternoon at C-N’s Buddy Catlett Tennis Center.

North Georgia eased to the doubles point with three quick victories. Johanna Lippert and Viktorie Wojcikova notched a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles to walk off the court first. Angelina Linnikova and Svetlana Teterina completed the point at the second line with a 6-3 win.

In singles, five straight set victories pushed the Nighthawks’ to a 6-1 final score.

North Georgia returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 with home non-conference match against Newberry. First serves are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
