(CLEVELAND) – The Truett McConnell University women’s soccer team secured a spot in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship game, after besting Montreat College Wednesday, inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex, with a final score of 6-1. The Lady Bears extend their win streak to five, while improving to a season record of 18-2, 13-1 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first half saw TMU dominate on the visitors side of the field, hitting the board first in the 23rd minute with a shot from Eliska Dvorakova, assisted by Sydney League (1-0). With three minutes left in the half, Amayia Lukie found the back of the net, after battling her way through the Cavaliers defense (2-0). 

At the start of the second half, TMU gained speed beginning with a League goal (3-0), but Montreat gained momentum of their own to make the score 3-1. In the 61st minute, a perfect ball from Hannah Logue found the foot of Dvorakova for her second goal of the night (4-1). The game was ultimately put out of reach after a goal by Logue and final goal by Lukie to make the score 6-1. 

LEADERS
Most notable, TMU outshot the Cavaliers 29-9, with 20 on goal. 

Dvorakova led the way with two goals and seven shots, five on goal. Lukie had two goals of her own, followed by Logue who had one goal, seven shots, six on goal and one assist. League recorded one goal and one assists, while goalie Emelie Taylor had four saves on the night.

The Lady Bears will travel to face No. 1 Reinhardt University in the AAC Championship game on Saturday, November 13, with a kickoff time to be announced.
