DAHLONEGA | With a trio of goals in each half, the University of North Georgia women’s soccer team walked away with a one-sided victory over Converse, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex. Olivia Dumphy and Rachel VanHorn combined for four of the Nighthawk scores with a pair each.

Dumphy got the party started early finishing a great through ball from VanHorn in the 20th minute. VanHorn scored herself just three minutes later before the freshman Dumphy showed off her power blasting a goal into the upper right corner in the 25th to extend the UNG lead to 3-0.

The Nighthawks would go on to have another dominant half with goals from McKay Shively (60th), VanHorn (69th), andBrynn Finneran (84th).

NOTES
– UNG collected its second consecutive shutout to start the season once again using multiple goalkeepers. All three Nighthawk keepers were utilized today with Hannah Goudy getting the start and seeing the most minutes.

– North Georgia was dominant in every facet of the match. UNG outshot Converse 32-16 including a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.

– 15 different Nighthawks took at least one shot in the match.

North Georgia will hit the road for the first time this season as the Nighthawks will head to Hickory, North Carolina to take on Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Kickoff is set 5 p.m.
