Peggy Cofer Sailers, age 90, of Baldwin, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Mrs. Sailers was born on January 20, 1934 in Newton County, Georgia to the late Albert and Lilla Tallulah Moss Cofer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Cofer, Alvin Cofer, James Cofer, Roy Cofer; and a baby sister, Elizabeth Cofer. Mrs. Sailers was the last of her immediate family.

Peggy was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church, where she had taught the Youth Sunday School Class for a number of years. She had worked as a Secretary for insurance companies in Covington and then Hartwell for many years before serving at Lee Arrandale State Prison for 22 years, and retiring in 1996. Peggy will be remembered as a loving wife, a cherished mother, and a beloved grandmother, known as “Nana”.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Rev. Joseph Franklin “Frank” Sailers, of Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Joy Sailers, of Carrollton; Harry and Susan Sailers, of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jordan Sailers and Christa Sailers.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Dr. Steve Bennett and Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the funeral home prior to the service.
