(Sautee)- A garbage truck accident kept White County officials bust for several hours Thursday after the truck ran off the road and down a 40 foot embankment on Bean Creek Road, just north of Gold Valley Road. The accident was reported to 9-1-1 dispatch at 9:28 AM.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said, “ a full size garbage truck half loaded with household garbage overturned into the creek.” Murphy advised that, EPD has been advised due to leakage from the truck into the creek. The narrow road had to be shut down for several hours while the Freightliner truck with New Way compactor, from BOBO Sanitation, was recovered by Ramey’s Wrecker Service.

White County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident and not details have been released yet.
