(Cleveland)- The White County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to be aware of a scam being conducted in the area. A post on the White County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page says the office has had reports of someone selling “left-over” asphalt, willing to lay it for a fraction of the normal price.

The post states, the person/company then only completes a portion of the work after taking full payment.

Sheriff Rick Kelley says, “Please be aware that if it seems “too good to be true”, it usually isn’t true.”

If anyone has contact with this type of operation is asked to report that to the Sheriff’s Office.
