(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) – On Friday, the Truett McConnell University baseball team traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, Johnson University. The Bears dominated with a 12-0 victory in game one, followed by a 4-2 victory in game two. TMU improves to a record of 19-17, 13-10 AAC, while the Royals fall to 12-32, 2-24 AAC.

GAME 1 | 12-0
In game one, the Bears were first to score after a Will Ingram two RBI homerun scored Isaak Mullanack, who sparked the inning with a double to right field (2-0). In the third, TMU added two more runs with a Brady Wilson walk, followed by a Mullanack single and an Edwards walk. With bases loaded, Sam Reed and Matthew Redmond both walked (4-0). The Bears continued to stack on runs with an offensive outburst of six runs in the seventh inning, featuring another Ingram homer for three RBIs. TMU continued to hold the Royals to no runs, securing a 12-0 victory in game one.

LEADERS
Mullanack led the way at the plate, going 2-5 with three runs. Ingram followed, going 2-4 at the plate with five RBIs. Edwards was 2-3 with two RBIs, while Redmond was 2-2 with one RBI.
Pitcher Tyler Gray threw a complete game, tallying one strikeout and only allowing five hits over seven innings.

GAME 2 | 4-2
In game two, TMU struck early in the second inning. A Mullanack walk, followed by an Ethan Roberts single put runners in scoring position. A single from Edwards and a fielder’s choice for Redmond scored two (2-0). In the fourth, Redmond started a rally with a triple, followed by a Kodi Bishop triple (3-0). The Royals retaliated with a run of their own (3-1). In the sixth, TMU scored their last run of the day starting with a Bishop double. A Mascarello single scored Bishop, making the score 4-1. The Royals were able to score one more run, but the Bears secured a 4-2 victory.

LEADERS
Bishop led the way offensively, going 2-3 at the plate. Mascarello and Tanner Griffith followed, going 1-3 at the plate, where Mascarello had one RBI. Edwards was 1-4 at the plate with one RBI, while Roberts was 1-4 at the plate with one run.
