(VALDOSTA) – The Truett McConnell University men’s golf team traveled to compete in the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite Monday-Tuesday for their spring season opener. TMU finished third out of eight teams, with a final team score of 897 through three rounds. TMU competed against three different NAIA top 25 opponents and bested AAC rival No. 22 Reinhardt University.

Sophomore Nate Thornton and Freshman Ty Cranford tied for eighth of 44 opponents. Cranford shot a 76 on day one and shaved seven strokes off to shoot an impressive 69 on day two and rounded day three out with a 79. Thornton was seen shooting a 72 through round one, 74 round two and 74 round three. Junior Michael Osborne and freshman Bradley Boone tied for 16th. Osborn was seen shooting 74, 78, 75, and Boone shot 77, 71, 79 through three rounds. Rounding out TMU’s was senior Cooper Roland, who tied for 36th 88, 75, 77.

Up next, the Bears will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to compete in the Lindsey Wilson Showdown on Monday, Feb. 28 – Tuesday, March 1.
