(GRAYSON, Ky.) – On Friday, the Truett McConnell University softball team traveled to Grayson, Ky. to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, Kentucky Christian University. The Lady Bears fell 0-2 in game one and returned with a dominating 11-3 run rule in game two. TMU’s record improves to 23-22, 16-8 AAC, while the Knights fall to 17-17, 12-12 AAC.

GAME 1 | 0-2
In game one, the Lady Bears struggled with offense and were unable to produce a run. The Knights were able to score two runs in the bottom of the fourth, leaving TMU to fall 0-2.
 
LEADERS
Alicia Price and Briley Lawson recorded the only two hits of the game, each going 1-3 at the plate.
 
GAME 2 | 11-3 (6 Innings)
In game two, the Knights were first on the board with one run in the bottom of the first (0-1). The Lady Bears retaliated with five runs of their own, starting with a Kyndall Gipson walk, followed by a Mattie Brooks single. Camryn Halliday hit a single to left field to score Gipson, followed by a Justine Kennington single to load the bases (1-1). Multiple misplayed balls and a double from Price raised the score to 5-1. The Knights were able to score another run in the bottom of the second and third, but six more runs from TMU secured an 11-3 run-rule victory.
 
LEADERS
Price led the way offensively, going 3-4 at the plate with four RBIs. Brooks followed, going 2-3 at the plate with one RBI and one run. Kennington was 2-2 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs. Pitcher Karley Hobbs was featured on the mound through 5.0 innings, along with recording four strikeouts and zero runs scored.

The Lady Bears will head to Barbourville, Ky. to face AAC foe, Union College on Saturday, April 15, to end their Kentucky road trip. Game times are set for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
