(CLEVELAND)- The Truett McConnell University women’s soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Milligan University, where the Lady Bears bested the Buffaloes 4-0 to remain perfect in AAC play. TMU rises to a record of 7-2-1, 6-0 AAC, while the Buffaloes fall to 2-6-1, 1-5 AAC.

PLAY BY PLAY

In the first period, the Lady Bears worked quick with an explosive offense. In the 16th minute, Moriah Logue, assisted by Kayla Boggess, scored the first goal of the evening (1-0). In the 31st minute, Dvorakova, assisted by Logue, scored the Lady Bears second goal (2-0). With numerous shots, Jette Schulz, assisted by Dvorakova, scored the third goal, sending the Lady Bears into the half ahead 3-0.

In the second period, the Lady Bears were seen outshooting the Buffaloes 22-1. With a stellar defense, TMU pushed on offense to score the fourth goal of the evening from Ashley Johnson, assisted by Lindsey Fowler (4-0). TMU continued with five shots on goal, a corner kick, and two shots, but did not add to their score, leaving them with a 4-0 victory.

LEADERS

Dvorakova led the way with seven shots, five on goal, and one goal. Johnson followed with four shots, three on goal, and one goal. Logue and Schulz both tallied three shots, two on goal, and one goal.

The Lady Bears hit the road on Saturday, October 8 to Athens, Tenn. to face AAC opponent Tennessee Wesleyan University. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m.
