(AUGUSTA, Ga. )— University of North Georgia women’s basketball player Emily Trushel has been named as the Peach Belt Conference’s Player of the Week after helping lead UNG to two wins at the Nighthawk Classic over the weekend.

Trushel averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over two wins last week, shooting 55% from the field. Adding on to her high scoring and rebound averages, the Brentwood, Tenn. native hit two free throws with 2 seconds left in the game to give the Nighthawks a 58-56 win over Lincoln Memorial, Trushel scored 25 points in that game with eight rebounds

Beginning the weekend, Trushel scored 16 with nine rebounds the previous day in a win over Tusculum, marking her first home game in the North Georgia uniform. She ranks fourth in the PBC in scoring, eighth in rebounding, third in field goal percentage and second in free throw percentage
