(AUGUSTA, Ga.) – The No. 6 University of North Georgia men’s golf team used a five-under par 283 final round to storm past fifth-ranked Georgia Southwestern (-8) and onto victory at the Lander Bearcat Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta.

UNG’s Noah Zediker took home the individual title, shooting even par in the final round with a 54-hole total of 210 (72-66-72).

UNG sat seven strokes behind fellow Peach Belt member GSW heading into the final round. The Nighthawks erased the GSW lead early in the day, but North Georgia had to hold off a late surge by Georgia Southwestern at the end to come away with the victory.

Will Chambless (70-74-68—212, T-4th) birdied three of the four holes at the turn and his final two holes to spring up the leaderboard and help lock UNG into the top spot.

Evan Thompson posted a 74-69-70—213 and finish tied for fifth, using an eagle on the 11th hole to kickstart his day.

Gabe Larson (74-72-73—219, T-19th), was a model of consistency for the tournament as his finish placed four Nighthawks in the top 20 and three in the top six.

No. 8 Limestone (-1), No. 17 Columbus State (+16) and USC Aiken (+22) rounded out the top five team scores.
