(Cleveland )- The National  Weather Service still has the Winter Storm Warning in effect until 1 PM Saturday  for Northeast Georgia. In addition they say a Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until noon.    We could see a little more snow but the bulk of the precipitation should be over for our area, but forecasters are warning of black ice on the roads, dangerous wind chills and possible down trees with the high wind and snow laden tree branches.

Winds becoming northwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour gusting to 30.  With winds that strong and our cold temperatures the wind chills will range between 5 degrees above to 10 degrees below zero this morning.

The roads in the area are slick and will remain that way through much of the day.  Both White County road crews and Georgia Department of Transportation are and will be addressing the travel issues during the day.

You should prepare for possible power outage with the high winds and some trees having heavy snow on them, they could break or blow down on power lines.

As far as snow fall is concerned we received a lot of that during the night, but with the melting, here at WRWH we measured only 2 inches.  Some other areas did pick up more especially were the temperature was low during the light night hours.

Temperatures Saturday morning are ranging from the low 20’s to near 30 at a few locations.

Travel in the area is being discouraged, because the roads are very slick.  White County 9-1-1 dispatch advised  all their contacts this morning have advised the roads are slick and dangerous.
