Sports – The Warriors were at home for senior night last night to take on the Chestatee War Eagles.

The first quarter was action packed, as both teams went back and forth across the field. But the only score would be by White County’s Tripp Nix with only 82 seconds left in the quarter.

In quarter two, it would be the War Eagles to put up their first score, beginning with a field goal, followed by a touchdown with less than a minute left in the half, bringing the score to 10 to 7, Chestatee.

A huge 97-yard touchdown for the War Eagles late in the third would bring the score to 16-7, Chestatee.

Early in the fourth, the Warriors would make a comeback with a touchdown by Bryson Philyaw, however their fuel would run out and the War Eagles would bring their lead to 9 just moments later bringing the score to 23-14 Chestatee. An additional touchdown by the Warriors with just over a minute left in the game would bring White County within three points of the win, but a 1-yard short onside kick from Hayden Vandergrift would bring the game to a close with the final score of Chestatee 23, Warriors 21.

Congratulations to all of this year’s graduating seniors.

The Captain D’s players of the game were Bryson Philyaw and Alex Johnson.  The final Warrior game will be next Friday as the Warriors take on Johnson High.
