23-year-old Anderson Dowdy

(Cleveland)– A Sunday night traffic stop in White County lead to the arrest of a Watkinsville man on drug and traffic offenses.

The White County Sheriff’s Office reported in a social media post that a White County deputy conducted a traffic stop on HWY 356, near Timber Loft Cottages, on a white SUV.  The driver was identified as  Anderson Dowdy of Watkinsville was stopped for failure to maintain lane at approximately 10:30 PM.

The post said during the course of the traffic stop, Dowdy admitted that he had methamphetamine inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was searched due to the admission of drugs being in the vehicle along with the deputy seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view and as a result, the deputy found 42 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of marijuana, 3.5 grams of cocaine along with a large sum of money.

Dowdy was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of Cocaine, and Failure to maintain lane.
