(Cleveland)- The White County Rotary Club has a new President to lead the club during the new Rotary year that begins July first.  Current president Terry Goodger along with handing out several awards to club members and non-members also handed over the club gavel to Todd Marks, with The Norton Insurance Agency in Cleveland.

During this weeks regular Tuesday meeting Goodger recognized two members who have already received awards this year including Nathan Eason, recipient of the Lee Arrendale Vocational Service Award– recognizing the importance of society through one’s vocation.  The Rotarian exhibits  “Service Above Self” and inspires vocational leadership. They set an example for others, particularly youth.  

Mitch Ralston, United Community Bank earlier received the Robert S. Stubbs Ethics Award– This award is presented to a person who most closely represents the attributes and passion of ethics.

During the meeting, the Family of Rotary Fellowship Award was presented to Chris Greene, LPL Financial.  This award recognizes a Rotarian who has made the effort to get to know all the Rotary members in their club and exemplifies the true spirit of  “family”.

The Jean Harris Volunteer of the Year Award, which honors the efforts of a woman who has made a significant contribution to the development and progress of others and their communities was presented to Honorary member Annette Adams.

The Eugene Adams Award For Community Service Award, an award that honors a non-Rotarian local business or civic leader whose unselfish service has furthered the welfare of our community. The recipient has outstanding character, honesty, dependability, and integrity. Nadine Wardenga was announced as the winner. Wardenga is out of the country and will be recognized later by the club.  

Rotarian of the Year award was presented to Nathan Eason, White County Extension Service. This award is selected annually by the membership to recognize a Rotarian who has exemplified the meaning of  “Service Above Self”.

The President’s Award– is an award selected by the current president and is awarded to an individual who has been invaluable to them in their years as president.   Todd Marks received that award.
